Koeman explains why Kakpo’s form is not great against Liverpool.
Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman Commented that Cody Kakpo may move to Liverpool a bit too early, causing him to struggle to find good form at the moment.
The 23-year-old, who joined from PSV Eindhoven last winter for £44m, has still scored or assisted for Yee’s side. Jurgen Klopp was not at all in the first six games.
Koeman thinks it’s good to have a young Dutchman move to the big leagues. But it is also thought that it might be difficult for them too with increasing expectations.
“You can see that he went to a team that didn’t perform well. Then it got harder for him as a new player. You were tested immediately,” Koeman said on Andy van der Meyde’s YouTube channel, former Dutch footballer Andy van der Meyde.
“And if you don’t score a goal or you don’t matter You won’t be able to win the game. It is very difficult, especially for young players.
“It would be different. If it’s someone who is 28 years old and has experience.”
“The level in England is higher than in the Netherlands. But they’re still young people, aren’t they? Like (Ryan) Gravenberch went to Bayern Munich and hardly played. which is difficult.
